My wife had just received a parking fine notice (£100 reduced to £60 blah blah) from the delightful company that is Parking Eye, relating to a car park in Newquay.
I kid you not,the time in/out on the photos shows she overstayed by just 59 seconds! Unfortunately unbeknown to me she has already gone back to them but worded in a way that admits she's the driver, which having searched previous posts on here wasn't the ideal thing to do.
I'm going to have a dig for the ticket itself to see if the time on that is different to the photos, but either way any advice appreciated. I know rules are rules but 59 seconds is raking the piss, especially when it's busy getting in and out.

Think I would argue it took longer than 59 seconds from entering the car park to park and exit - hence you were actually parked for less than the paid for time.

Can't see a court (even if it ever got that far) siding against you with that argument.

Sjc

all is not lost, get onto pepipoo.com at once, its free and put up the ticket with all personal detils redacted. They msy be able to assist but id Mrs sjc has admitted she is the driver it could take a little bit of thinking. These guys so this as a hobby and have a good success rate ( for a good read look at the threads about The airports scam by VCS)

what you are looking at hear are two outcomes

1) you pay PE $100.00

2) see what pepipoo could do and you may save £100.00

It is your choice

But 2 is a better option and at least if you do lose you will the statifction of making them spend 27.50 of your 100.00 at the popla appeal. childish i know but it is your call

bad company

Was it a shop car park? My mum got a ticket at an Aldi car park. I phoned Aldi head office for her, told them how much she had spent in the store that day and the ticket was withdrawn.

Parking Eye are a member of the BPA. Their own Code of Practice requires a 10 minute grace period at the end of paid parking - see section 13.4 of http://www.britishparking.co.uk/write/Documents/AO...

Have kept my office paper shredder busy with parking notice charge crap for a number of years.
All sent normal snail mail so not signed for and NEVER heard a thing from them.

Slam dunk here surely??

13.4 You should allow the driver a reasonable period to leave the
private car park after the parking contract has ended, before
you take enforcement action. If the location is one where
parking is normally permitted, the Grace Period at the end
of the parking period should be a minimum of 10 minutes.
