October 2014 I was involved in a small bump. Anyway when I insure Cars now I have been putting it down as a accident. Do I have to? I haven't heard anything and not had any written confirmation.

Evening,

years ago I was involved in a minor collision, and passed details to my insurer to handle repair to the 3rd party (my car didn't need any repair)

They never contacted me again with any outcome, and at renewal time I had to call them to get the final decision and cost.

And on a more recent incident, I had to chase like mad to stir action from the insurance co, which took over 8 months to sort out a fairly striaght forward thing.

So I would say to just chase them up about it, with your old policy number handy.

You might be tempted to think that they have forgotten all about this incident, and by mentioning it now the insurance co you're going to somehow reawaken it.

I don't think this is realistic though - databases can be cross checked quite easily, and I would think the cost of this small bump on your premium will be less than having a claim rejected over a triviality.

It's a material fact, non disclosure of which can and will void your insurance.

As for NCB it's a no claim bonus not a no blame bonus.
