When you have some very clear photos of a guy seemingly threatening someone else with an axe in London, how do you end up with "Police will not be investigating the incident any further"?
Not BiB bashing but I'm genuinely a little confused given the photos seem crystal clear and London has more CCTV cameras than just about anywhere else AFAIK

Just another day in Stratford. And it's hardly an army barracks, they are just trying to bum a nothing story up.
Div 1 gets out car waving axe, realises div 2 has a blade, and both do a bit of willy waving and a bit of gangsta speak for a bit, and off they go.
Be surprised if the local Sarge raised more than half an eyebrow.

They could have investigated it, not had any joy as to who the blokes were so thats that.
With the amount of 'pool cars' being driven about its not unlikely that the reg no's drew a blank. With only pictures of the blokes there isnt much more that can be done, I'm guessing neither party went and reported it either.

IT doesn't say the Police didn't investigate it.
If the parties can't be involved and no witnesses want to speak to the Police, what exactly would you like the Police to do? As ever, there just isn't the level of detail to definitively state whether the Police were good/bad/indifferent.

Mr Grim and BMW must be more intelligent than this in real life? Surely.
Well if you look the police said they will not be investigating this matter any further, which clearly indicates that it was investigated. Now it does not say why they wont take it any further but I would imagine that basic enquiries from the images shown that they cannot identify the people involved. This however will be overlooked by the hard of thinking that will chip in with pointless sarcasric tiresome comments that they hope will make them appear more interesting than they actually are.

Nobody has stated any of those things. YetIf the parties can't be involved and no witnesses want to speak to the Police, what exactly would you like the Police to do? As ever, there just isn't the level of detail to definitively state whether the Police were good/bad/indifferent.

Typing error, I should've written "identified" rather than "involved".
Anyway, as I qualified the second sentence with an "if", what realistically do you want the Police to do? Waste time investigating something where nobody was injured and witnesses (hypothetically) won't give statements or attend court, or use dwindling resources to inv stigmata stuff where there are actual victims?
In an ideal world, the participants would get dealt with for affray/weapons offences, but as above, is that what you want your thinly spread resources doing?
It's not at the gates to the barracks, it's not jihadists, it's two car loads of bell ends having a do at each other. 400 metres from the barracks is a long way in that there London.
I'd also be interested to know if the photographer took the images to the police first, or the "newspaper". Because publication of images prior to identification of suspects causes all sorts of problems with investigations, PACE Code D...
Well yes, if it prevents these people doing it again or worse, I'd say it was worth following up. I recognise the paucity of officers, but as someone said in a similar thread, prevention is better than cure. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to find these gentlemen both had previous for violent crime.
If an incident of disorder is reported and its all over by the time the Police arrive and there are no persons at the scene making any complaints - then under the current rules theres no crime to record, though reasonable enquiries should be made to trace any victims and secure evidence -which presumably has been done. Certainly worth making a few desk based enquiries to i.d. the combatants for intelligence purposes but its unlikely any of them will co-operate with Police even if traced-so it'd be pointless to waste resources pursuing them.

IF as you suggest, they have previous for violent crime what do you think are the chances that a stern talking-to is likely to prevent them from re-offending...... PC Dixon said:
"Now, look here old man! Obviously we haven't got enough evidence to press charges but, dash it all! It's just not the done thing, d'ye hear? Now let's have no more of this tomofoolery or else!"

What do you want the police to do?
That is my area.
I'm not involved in this case, so feel comfortable commenting. Ish.
I would bet a large amount as to which groups are involved.
Nobody will give a statement.
We could 'fit them up' I guess?
The cars will be 'in trade' they will not have an owner. If they get stopped again, the drivers will be from Barcelona.
And don't try the 'it wasn't like this years ago' it's been like that there for decades. I've worked 3, hasn't changed.

Doing a good job then
Just joking - don't take offence! If they did get pulled again and it's a "trade car", what would realistically happen - with or without the weapons present. We both know that they will have previous - would this affect sentencing (if it came to it)?

Oh dear God, is crystal clear pictures of offenders brandishing weapons not good enough, I suppose if they confessed on personal media for you that would do?That is my area.

Still, I suppose the investigation when the same bloke buries the hatchet in someone's skull next time will exonerate you all.
