Unlikely I know, but I don't want to be caught out like the flying gazebo / Porsche interface wink

If I lock my bike with heavy chain across a pavement to a post and someone trips over it and injures themselves, would a claim against me succeed?

Let's wait for the first case of an electric car being charged from a house like yours.

Just to be safe, put a big yellow warning notice over it. I believe the correct wording to use is "Cut here".

No but they will nick your moped by lifting it up over the sign and lobbing it in the back of a van.

They'll only trip if they try and squeeze between the two.

It all comes down to reasonableness. What you have done there is perfectly reasonable, done daily by millions of people, and it would not be reasonable to expect that to be a trip hazard. I don't think anyone could successfully sue.

There is never any excuse nor is it in any way reasonable to ride one of them things.

You can knock those posts out the ground by rocking them back and forward. Its piss easy to do.

Good point, ta. Unfortunately I'd need a 4m chain to go round the tree!

Pft. "Bike". That's a scooter! wink

I'm taking the piss of course. But you should buy an R1 to drop on your driveway / pavement.
