Mustang Police Car?
Discussion
Earlier today on the A11 in Essex I saw a car transporter loaded with police vehicles two of which were brand new RHD Ford Mustangs, one marked, one black unmarked.
I have to say the marked car looked pretty awesome!
What is it I have seen? The latest addition to a force's motorway patrol, or just a promotional vehicle?
Attached is the obligatory photo, albeit a poor a quality phone photo

The Police livery one is a static car - not for road use, just shows. The Police are testing a plain black one though.

Evo have some more info on it here. They reckon UK forces are seriously considering ordering some.

Northumbria police had a Cosworth Sierra in the previous century, but it was stolen.
Was it Humberside that ran Escort Cosworths? My local force has previously had an ST and I think has an S3 currently. My comment about fleet managers not buying the new RS is a hunch - I'd be pleasantly surprised to see one in that role. JulianHJ said:

It is possible that the stolen Northumbrian car was an Escort Cosworth, although this garbled report from the Independent states Sierrahttp://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/pair-stole-po...
As I recall, the thieves moved other vehicles around in the compound to get the Cosworth.
