sorry another private car sale thread.

im sure im ok here but its bugging me.
I sold my car a 2010 astra j with 196k on the clock. a 1.6 petrol beginning of last week
the guy came down from the other end of the country after letting me down twice.
its was advertised at half the price of any car with sensible miles due to the mileage, he met me looked over the car. drove it 7-8 miles then looked over it again. was happy and gave me the money, wrote us both a receipt saying sold as seen and tested and no guarantee against any faults that may arise.
he called me on the way home to say the temperature gauge had stopped working, i told him don't no why, and maybe try switching it on and off maybe.
then he calls next day and says the speedo reads differently to his sat nav, and its had some paint on the bumper. i gave him a hpi report i had done when i got it about 2 months ago. says clear.
he then called the next day and said the headlight didnt look like it sat right in the bumper.( he didnt notice before and nor did i) and it passed mot 4 weeks ago with no advisories.
he now texts me today and says its using too much petrol and the speedo is 8mph out on motorway against his satnav.
its beginning to bug me now. i used the car daily with no issues. it is in good condition for the miles not even any wear to the interior, i was cheap for the age of the car, its not going to be perfect. the add stated the facts, he was given every chance to look it over and he did. the car drives great he even texted when he got home and said smooth drive.
should i be worried?
i thought selling privately was meant to be hassle freeish

thanks i thought was much, its just bugging me, he said to me on friday, sorry to keep ringing you but i want the car perfect for my daughter, theres no comeback on you for all these problems.(what problems) he says it read 8mph out. i googled astra j speedo and it appears they are all like that, he seems a nice enough chap and i dont want to appear rude, but its annoying me now.

Why don't people get a cheap PAYG SIM to use in car adverts? Nice and simple - use the PAYG number on the advert, once the car is sold - bin the SIM.
No need to bin the SIMFar more convenient to have an old Nokia 8210 in the man drawer on PAYG for this kind of eventuality, and Ebay, and whatever..........

If you bin it, then the only way they're going to passive-aggressively get in touch with you is if they come to your door, which most people won't bother with (or you sell the car like Arfur Daley in the car park of the local pub!)
he does seem to be expecting a bit too much i think. to look at and drive, you would never think it had done the miles. hes got a car that looks like a 4-5 grand car for half the price. hopefully he will leave me to it now, he appears to no nothing about cars but then if that's the case, take it to a garage i knocked another 150 quid off the asking price when he arrived. if he needs to spend a few pounds getting it perfect then he cant complain.
You get some really odd car buyers,i sold a fantastic running merc 320 cdi guy came to house,i drove him around in it,wrung its neck to show it pulls like a drain with the kick down(auto).
He was well chuffed,he buggers off in car,5 minutes later he came to my door again, first thing he said was,it's f
ked!i'm just gobsmacked!
He said it was stuttering, losing power and black smoke belching out?
I was stunned,i took him for a run,it was flawless! He said he'll drive it again to replicate fault,it again drove flawlessly.
So again he buggered off,20 minutes later he's back again, hey mate, what are you up to etc, etc,i'm like wtf??Really giving me a hard time like i was pulling a fast one.
I grabbed keys back off him, told him to f
k off and threw his cash on the ground, which he duly spent ages recounting outside my house in his misses car, cheeky sod, must be the most surreal experience i've had.
Subsequently sold car to guy who had three of them, commented it was best one he had drove and still phones me thanking me for how good the car's been for him!Unreal!

i had a guy about 4 years ago who bought my v reg toledo v5. came up from cornwall, messed me about for ages with excuses about getting to me and could i deliver etc etc. then wanted money off for his fuel to get to me( it was up for 750) then texted me when he got home and said it got home without blowing up. then called a few days later and said he had taken it to a bodyshop and they had noticed it had a new rear bumper at some point, and he wished i had told him. it was 12 years old, how the hell would i know that about 6 years before me owning it, it had had a bumper. unbelievable
