Can a car be parked without MOT and Insurance on the road?
Discussion
As per the title, though car has tax.
I ask as there is a car that appears to have been abandoned outside our house for a week, tatty and generally making curtains twitch in our exclusive strasse.
Not causing me any problems, but I like to look for problems as a way to relax.
I've looked around for basic facts, but seems a lot of conflicting info out there, especially on Forums, so thought I'd ask on a Forum to see how the land lies.
Not interested in "what happens if car is involved in an accident" just is it legal or illegal to be kept on the public road minus MOT (3 weeks ago) and no insurance (via online database), but with valid Tax.
Pass the biscuits...and thanks in advance.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Council call it is tomorrow.
Car has been left in same position for a week until this evening, when it has been moved 2 feet (downhill) towards edge of drive, so now right against access to my drive. Now beginning to get in the way a bit.
Thanks again and keep those replies coming.

Don't hold your breath - a report of an 'abandoned' car usually results in the details being sent to the nearest contracted out facility working for DVLA. If it's not too far from their depot they may come and deal with it. I know from experience that 40 miles is 'too far' for them, but not sure what the tipping point is! My experience was with a still in occasional use, untaxed and MOT expired 2 years previously with obvious failure items van. Never got to the bottom of why they wouldn't deal with it, but eventually the owner moved it never to return...
