Some muppet has parked across my dropped kerb for 2 days now , I can still get out of my drive (just) by driving over the normal raised pavement

My dropped kerb is listed as an enforced kerb with the local council and they have put a ticket on the car which is taxed insured and Mot,d and not reported as stolen . Its An old banger which makes me think it could be dumped .

If it's stil there Monday can I enforce that the council remove the car as it's an obstruction .?

Although its a different LA the rules are the same. *

Although, dont be witnessed or say anything about driving over a raised kerb (public pathway) as that is an offence in its own right.

Depends on the council - http://www.homesandproperty.co.uk/property-news/le...
Most couldn't give a toss if it's only one individual citizen who is inconvenienced.

Try 101.

Vehicles obstructing driveways

Where vehicles are preventing access to or from a driveway, the police have the capability to identify the vehicle owner and request the vehicle is moved.

Possible obstruction offence?

There is no quick solution except a couple of mates with a trolley jack and these. Or you could try the Chinese solution. wink

My neighbours visitors often do this; not maliciously may I add. Between our houses there are 1.5 car lengths on the road so when they have more than one person visiting they park and block more than 50% of our driveway. I'm forever knocking to making them move - muppets!

If it's taxed, MOT'd and insured then it's highly unlikely to have been dumped by the owner.

If it's obstructing your access to the highway then it's causing an offence - Call the Police to get it towed away.

The simplest way of dealing with this scenario is:

If it's preventing you from accessing your property from the highway: Call the council.
If it's preventing you from accessing the highway from your property: Call the Police.

It might well have been dumped by someone other than the owner. Way back when (~35 years ago) my car was pinched and used by some scrote to get back close to his hovel. It took some time to trace it. I have no idea how but the police (kudos to them) found out who he was and felt his collar. Apparently his excuse was he had missed the last train and had no money for a cab, so he decided to help himself to my car which was parked on the street.
