Came home from golf today to find a 16 reg Corsa SRI parked on my drive. Opens front door to find an envelope with the keys for the car on the floor, as it looks like it's been booked for my Son who's in the Army and presently in Iraq. So I ring them and it takes 15 bloody minutes to get through, only to then be cut off two mins later mad Try again, but after another 15mins waiting I decide to send an E mail instead and receive an automated response, they will respond within the next 7 dayseek Problem I have is my drive will hold four cars and we have visitors at the moment, meaning I have to move the hire car but there's nowhere in the culdysac to park it. So question is if I park it away from my house (local primary school car park 100m away) and it gets damaged would I be held responsible? Think there's also going to be an issue tomorrow if they read my E mail and come to collect it, as I'm in a golf comp and Wife will be out for the day with guestsfrown

OMG! OMG! No wonder you are angry! Having to put up with all this, and on a Friday night!

Did Europcar not know you only had space for four cars? bds!

I cannot imagine how you are going to resolve this one. What a horrible situation.

Brilliant, laugh Not sure what size of drive has to do with it as I live in a small semi and enlarged the drive myself.

Question was quite simple, (although I can understand why you find it difficult, trying to answer whilst under your quilt worrying if your Mother will catch you) if I move the car somewhere else and it gets damaged will I be responsible.

You're responsible for any damage full stop. (I do realise that's 2 full stops)

Isn't the OP saying it's been delivered in error since his son clearly doesn't need a car there right now? Odd thing to happen, presumably his son is a previous customer and an old/future booking has got cocked up?

The OP might have to be careful about moving it on to the road as he may not be insured to drive it, in fact presumably isn't as doesn't have the consent of Europcar to move it.

If its taking too long to get through on the phone what number are you calling? Calling he booking line might help as you'll get to talk to a real person quicker.

Personally I'd call them when they are quieter, they'll probably want the keys left externally somewhere so they can just pick it up at their leisure.

No you wouldn't, your son would be as the rental is in his name and you're not insured to drive it.

Lemme be sure I understand this...

Somebody's booked a rental car, which has been correctly delivered to the address requested.
Yeh, bloody Europcar...

It would have been more advisable if your son had hired through the local Europcar office in Erbil.

Obviously there's been a cock up as my Son is not due home next till next week, so could be either the Army or Eurocar. My concerns are that its just been left on my drive and can't contact them. Tried yesterday and after waiting over 15 mins to get through they put phone down/ cut off after only a minute or so. Tried ringing back, but again after another 15 mins still no answer. Decide to send E mail, reply states they will respond within the next 7 days. Tried again this morning, office now closed for Weekend. Rang the premium number someone kindly linked to above, press the buttons to try and get through (only the choice between corporate account or not) and phone goes dead. So in answer to your reply "Yes, Bloody Europcar"

Yep, should be cul-de-sack.

Yep, should be cul-de-sack.
Or even "cul de sac".

Arse of the bag, literally translated from French.

Yes, by the OP. smile

But you won't find that spelling in any dictionary.
It not only looks it, it is.
