Afternoon folks, random question on behalf of my wife who got herself a ticket.

She parked her car just off of Union Street in Aberdeen in a marked loading bay. There were signs stating that it was a loading bay up until 19:00 and she parked the car at 19:15, being away for a couple of hours.

Now I wasn't there so I didn't see if there were any other signs but I would have thought that if a timescale was given, it would be free to park in these spaces outside of the times stipulated. She has photographs of where she parked and the sign stating the restricted times. I had a check of Aberdeen Councils website and had a internet search but couldn't find any real answers.

Does anyone have any advice on whether she was in the right or wrong in this case?

Cheers in advance.

What was the ticket actually for? Overstaying, incorrect vehicle type, no permit, etc. would give a clue.

Just read the ticket, it was issued for parking in a restricted bay within the designated times however it was issued at 19:48 so outwith the advertised time. Sounds like a over exuberant warden to me.

I got one of those. Or similar. Parked in a pay and display bay. Restriction starts at 10am. I went to move my car at 9.40am and there's a ticket on the windscreen. Turns out there is an additional restriction between 7am and 10am. There was a yellow sign above the pay and display sign. Yellow sign has 7am-10am written on it with a circle with a line through it.

Is it one of those bays with double yellows through it but has timed restrictions for commercial vehicles so outside these times it would be fineable for the double yellows?
