I came round the top half of the 25 on Saturday night,M4 to M11 no posted limits on overhead gantry and I got a double flash at one point. I know I didn't exceed 84 at any time so I too am keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully there is a bit of leeway in the system.

I suspect there are plenty of flashes that never get prosecuted - I've been in a vehicle that's been flashed on two separate occasions on the M25 over the past 10 years or so and the driver has never heard anything about it.

I don't know if there's a technical get out if there are other vehicles in the image, a higher prosecution threshold, or something else, but I do know for a fact that not all flashes in those cameras lead to a NIP.

You are referring to the Gatso in the Gantry at J29. These are digital ones but if no variable limit is displayed, do not usually go off unless you are above 90mph ish.

This is the closest camera NIP I can find on our fleet system - if it is that location, we only have details of NIPs when it is showing 50/60 limit - I can't find any for more than 72 in a 60.

However, without knowing the type of cameras that are in place, I'm not sure, as did post this in another thread recently

I can confirm that we have no tickets whatsoever for anything near Heathrow...

It's A Hadecs to the left of the gantry.

Could be the one at Cranham? Seems like it will ping at a ton plus, don't know about it being lower. I feel your pain, let us know what transpires.

, of Tye Common Road, Billericay, was fined £267, given six penalty points, and ordered to pay victim surcharge of £26 and £90 costs for driving along the M25 at Cranham at a speed of 103mph, in excess of the 70mph limit.

The Hadecs are well before this, the last one of those being before the M11 Turn off if you are travelling Clockwise. Between the M11 and the Dartford Crossing they are all digital Gatso's mounted in the gantries.

Not in the same location but I got double flashed by a HADECS one that sits behind the gantries by clackets lane services, it was 1am and I was above the speed limit with no speed shown on the gantry, that was May of this year and I still have not heard anything, I pretty much made myself ill over the weeks after as id taken a new job internally and thought i could be seeing a ban.

A positive from that is that I now very rarely speed on the motorway network.

Is there a way of finding out which are HADECs, or just by observation? There's one around Epping that keeps coming up in the local paper I'm interested in.

Look again next time you go past, as I do about 15 times a week. The gatsos have never worked.

I go past here every week day and have never seen it flash, but whenever a variable limit is shown I don't chance it. The only time I've seen cameras on the northern stretch flash is when variable limit is on, so best not risk it. Never seen any camera on that stretch flash when NSL is shown.

I'm sure >90% of drivers speed, but if you're driving at over a ton through variable speed gantries, I don't have much sympathy for you!

so, exactly a month after the incident there has been nothing through the post. I am however mindful that..

1) it is a lease car so the letter would go to them first and there may be a delay in them sending it on
2) Christmas post might have caused an additional delay.

i am convinced its still coming..

This - the HADECS are hidden slightly behind a sign and before the gantry that has any Gatsos on so difficult to see until the last minute but they are there and live

As a small crumb of comfort for you. In the past 18 months I've had 1 parking ticket and one sp30 speeding ticket (manned van in Aylesbury 7.30 on a Sunday morning -37 in a 30, just after it drops from 40) both times the notices arrived promptly. Well within 10 days.
