I got stopped by the police last night , just went to the local supermarket for some shopping and was on my way home , i pulled onto the end of my street and got a brief whoop of a siren and a flash so pulled into my normal spot and got out . was an unmarked bmw and was asked where i was going .
told them i was home and had done some shopping on my way home from work. then they asked if i had been drinking to which i said no i dont drink , they asked if i would take a road side breath test , i did this happily and as i knew the result was a zero reading. then i got the , have you been doing any drugs and then had the new swab test..again came back negative. the plod were very nice and friendly and turned out they were doing a christmas time purge type thing, fair enough. they also checked my details everything in place and legit.
just want the folk of leeds and west leeds especialy to know , dont risk it , the unmarked police are out and activley looking for folk. I asked why i was pulled. the officer said your in a red car and we play snooker with motors this time of year, you were our red ball. i passed the attitude and had nothing to worry about and they said thanks and was on my way. but wondering has anyone else heard of police snooker. they thought it was funny . i say instead of games concentrate on the job .

They are concentrating on the job, can only think they were trying to have a laugh whilst doing it

If an obviously drunk person driving a white car came by they'd still stop it, even if it meant potting the cue ball...

They are on a random stop and check routine. How would you like them to chose the random vehicles they stop? Reg numbers out of a hat? I thought it was funny, you need to cheer up! The clearly are focusing on the job, they stopped you didn't they?

Well I guess it's less confrontational than saying "your driving was a bit st so we thought you were on something" or "you had such a gormless expression we assumed you must be stoned".

As long as they are polite, which in my experience they are, job jobbed.

I wish there was more of them, like the olden days !

were very professional and very polite and easy going as was my attitude to. i had not done anything wrong had nothing to worry about etc so i was not about to give them any grief like you see on the tv etc. everything in order no bother and only took 5 mins to deal with so fair enough, just not heard of car snooker before. the plod who pulled me seemed actually pleased to be honest, swab for drugs was 0, breath test 0 car details all present and correct and up to date. if it saves some innocent bod being crashed into by a pisshead, or druggy or non insured idiot etc all wells with the world as far as im concerned.

hahahaha just get a taxi mate, not worth it. they are pretty hot on case right now and rightfully so. no sympathy for drink / drugged drivers at all.
they were doing there jobs and did it with no attitude or anything , just very cordial and friendly but doing what they had to do and fair enough. the officers were from pudsey station and a credit to them. i have no time for drink or drug driving .
