Decided to move on a couple of things, never going to use/restore them, one is an old Brit bike, good reg which I'm keeping. The bike is on sorn, so I'm wondering what happens with it, does it need re-sorned under the replacement number or is it done automatically?

I'm under the impression that to put a plate on retention the vehicle had to be taxed anyway?

If so then yes you will have to re-sorn it.

Are you sure it is a transferable reg on the bike?

From the Gov website
"Your vehicle must be:

registered with DVLA
taxed or have a SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) in place within the last 5 years
available for inspection"

Err? Yes.
