It seems to me that there's a great deal of good advice given in this section of PH, by chaps who are qualified in law.

Proper legal beagle types.

Endless answers. No benefit or reward. They just do it because they can.

Net contributors.

Jolly well done chaps.

I would like to think that they do it because they like to help, I will advise on matters that I'm knowledgeable about, IANAL so I don't offer legal opinions, I'm surprised that they continue to do so given the comments from some of the fkwits here but I applaud them for what they do.

Some are better than others. One sent me an extremely abusive email after I called him on an invalid personal assumtion.

IANAL, but I've had many battles in court with private parking companies so try and offer a little bit of advice where I can, mainly people messaging and asking.

Props to the real legal beagles who have helped me numerous times! smile

Yes, it's good for them to post on here. I post in the same spirit. Tiz PH after all.

Sadly most have given up posting as they got fed up of arguing with "armchair" experts.

Seem to remember 'LoonR1' always being helpful with insurance legality, not sure what he did but I think he's banned now.

There are a few others always cropping up on here who've really impressed me by their generosity. Especially since its largely a fairly anonymous forum and people don't all know each other unlike a smaller car club.

You would think a lawyer would be thicker skinned.

Conversely, you would think some posters might accept that someone with extensive professional experience, having literally written the reference book on the topic might be worth listening to.

I don't think he was banned, he got fed up with fkwits so he stopped posting any genuine advice and help in his area of expertise.I've seen that happen a few times on here and we've lost some genuine experts in their field

Unfortunately fkwits will win in this situation.

No, he was banned, but it was less about SP&L and more about another subforum. But yes, he was bored with the fkwits.

There are a number of people who have been banned or just left for similar reasons . . . PH is not what it used to be.

You would be surprised at some of the wallflowers I have come across in my time. I don't suspect they last too long.

I'm sure they are when they're being paid for advice. When you're giving advice for free in your spare time i suspect your tollerance level drops.
