As far as I understood it.

Green with no siren for doctor but cannot claim any exceptions.

An a basics doctor who claims to be blue light trained run red and green lights with with a siren.

The vast majority of the green sirens are for out of hours doctors. They are usually have a driver and not themselves driving the vehicle. I don't think they have any extra privileges though.

No it's a doctor who claims to be blue light trained and drives his own car with green lights and rear reds and a siren. Seems oddd but he passes police cars at speed according to him and he is south coast basics.I just said it's confusing and if siren should be used wth blues or greens on their own. He got a bit defensive so makes my wonder if he is taking the pee or lying.

I don't auto assume someone in that profession would not be taking the pee.

They said that about Shipman and how many people did he kill as know one thought a doctor was capable.

I know a few basic doctors who are blue light trained (we can call upon them if the helicopter isn't available and their signed on) but they will all display blue lights (on their own cars) and a siren. Green lights alone should not be used with a siren, and have no official 'power'.

On a few occaisions the police have followed a basics doctor (or paramedic) to the scene, just to make sure it's legit. A local guy here has a VW camper van (newer model) and he uses that when he's on call, so police have followed him a couple times to make check what's going on, they don't pull him over though.

We've also got a basics doctor here in a porsche 911 with blue lighs and siren, and he always turns up with the biggest grin on his face.

Just using a example of why you can't automatically trust a doctor.

Screams wanna be to me be usual for a doctor to mess about like that.

Originally his excuse for no blue was he added the siren after passing his blue light course but didn't want the cost of changing the lights.

Just for interest ,one of the first doctors to start a service to attend RTAs was a GP in Catterick Village back in the 60s .
A doctor Easton ,he used to drive a green Ford Ensign estate ,and regularly attended accidents on the nearby A1 .
I was aware of him as he was my GP at the time and I went to school with his daughter ,who was my first teenage crush .

Yeah, fair enough. He does look properly Walt-y. I don't for a moment trust his pristine 'doctors bag' either.
