What age do the police get involved with assault caused by children.

A two year old hitting another 2 year old, you would expect this maybe and make allowances maybe as they are minors.

An 8 year old hitting another 8 year old, less expectation as they know what's right and wrong

A fifteen year old (some are quite big people) and could probably kill someone with a single punch.

What age would the police get involved?

Age of criminal responsibility is 10. So below this, they definitely wouldn't get involved (against the child, at least. Parents?).
Above 10, if it's child on child, I doubt there'd be an assault charge if they were, say 12.
Anyone know more?

Yes, this would be recorded as assault - for recording purposes only - the fact that the 'offender' is only 2yrs of age doesn't make whatever's occurred any less of an assault but clearly no further action would be taken and the report would be closed off.

Had the police become involved in kids fights in decades past, I reckon more than half of us would have ended up behind bars.

Not so much kids fighting, I was leaning more towards the side of one person doing the violence as in bullying.

If it's a sustained campaign or a serious one off incident the local plod have a team to get involved.
They will escalate to criminal proceedings if it continues, but it's pretty rare.

If it is at school, get the school involved, otherwise perhaps talk to the other parents before getting the police involved?
