Bit of excitement in the village today.
Not 100 yards from my house.

And the damage:

What do you reckon happened?
My money is on the red car turning and the land rover idiotically trying to overtake.

Either that or red car was parked and managed to time pulling away without looking just as the Defender went past them.

That't just added to the character of the defender, the Vauxhall on the other hand....

A bold move to be overtaking anything in a defender unless it's got something interesting under the bonnet..

In other news the post box is to be repainted and the Parish Council is planning to have the windows in the village hall replaced.

You're living in the wrong place. We've had a stabbing and a raid on a brothel, all before lunchtime.

Not a lot of damage to the defender !! Nor to the red car from what I can see - so why a major police incident ?? - perhaps its the flip flops !!!

We considered that too. It seems less likely, as the red car was angled to turn down the side turning. Also, not shown, the red car was giving a right signal (at least, by the time we reached the scene). The land rover's wheels were straight, which doesn't indicate a swerve.
Nothing conclusive, of course.

The red car had a caved in wheel arch, and it sounds like it had significant damage to the drivetrain, the sound it made when it was moved!

Because it's the most exciting thing that's happened in the village since Horace Openfold became drunk and urinated in the horse trough, July 14th1967.

Yeah, this place is a bit boring.
Mainly posting because Land Rover woman had her gang come over - one of whom approached us and asked if we saw what happened. They also all went around and photographed the red car. Seemed like potential intimidation.

Why does that require 2 police cars FFS?

Someone called the police out for that?

Unless there were injuries, cars could not be moved or offences just move off the road, exchange details and job done.

How quaint - the whole village has come out to watch so they can remember the day two of those horseless carriages collided.

Because the other one is off hunting for a missing tortoise.

I would imagine that the red car has very significant suspension damage if the impact has bent the bumper on the Landy ,my mate wrote a Focus off when he hit it with his Landy and his bumper wasn't as bent as that .
