Parking tickets - general consensus?
Discussion
A friend of mine recently got two parking tickets a few weeks apart at the same car park (UKPC).
On the first occasion, the clock on the machine was wrong. The driver paid for the ticket and then noticed the time on the machine was incorrect, so it would seemingly expire much sooner than was paid for. A photo was then taken of a watch next to the machine to demonstrate this.
The second time, a parking officer was in the area and said the spaces being parked in weren't covered by that particular car parking company - so it was fine to park there. An hour or two later, a ticket was issued, presumably by the same person but possibly not.
Now, what would you do in this situation? I know the age old advice of ignoring the letters isn't really that applicable these days (is it)? Is it better to appeal, even though both cases could quite easily be denied by the car parking company...
Thanks.

"If your friend hadn't been selfish and inconsiderate then they would not have received a ticket"....
A few letters will be needed, but don't ignore.
UKPC are easy to defeat at initial appeal, or at POPLA. They rarely instigate court action, because when they do, they get their arse handed to them on a plate.
As above, Pepipoo or at a push MSE forums.
