Insurance Query

I've had a few points endorsed on my licence and called the insurance company to tell them. They've told me I don't need to tell them now but to declare when I renew. The offence date was before I took the policy out and I hadn't received anything in the post about it, hence nothing was pending when I took out the policy, the conviction was a month and a half later.

Is it correct what I've been told by the insurance company?

Yes. You answered honestly at inception, so there is no obligation to update them about convictions until the next renewal.
