Wondering what my options here are. I ordered a 4Tb SSD from Amazon Prime.

I apparently missed the first delivery despite being in all day and no-one ringing my doorbell or leaving a card.

Delivery attempt two was successful but open opening the package there was a Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 BluRay instead. I called Amazon who said they had to investigate.

This is quite a high value item and I'm a little worried (the joys of googling your issues...) that Amazon are fobbing me off and that ultimately I'll get told it was the right weight and size and that I must be trying to scam them.

Of course I might be premature with my concerns, but from reading around the odds would not seem to be in my favour. Any suggestions where to go next if that is the case?

Whats your shopping history like with them? If you've been registered for a long time and frequently bought items, they'll probably realise you're not a scammer. If they don't you can point this out to them.

Amazon have always been good to me.

Last Christmas i ordered a gift for someone. What turned up was an empty Jewellery box. I emailed Amazon and explained and they refunded my money pretty much straight away.

Yeah Amazon CS is fantastic. Surely they could see from the bar code on the bluray it came from them and work out what went wrong.

That's easy for you to say, I can't really afford to lose this amount of money and I can't 'just return' the incorrect item as Amazon say it's high value and that they cannot refund until after an investigation has taken place.

You haven't lost any money yet. Let them investigate, they are one of the most helpful companies around when it comes to customer service.

I wouldn't worry, as long as you're not on an Amazon watchlist for scamming them in the past, they will sort this out for you no issues.

As others have said Amazon customer service is generally pretty good. This won't be a new scenario to them, I bet their packers make mistakes all the time.

Amazon customer services are usually very good and fair.

I recently ordered an i7 CPU, cost about £330. When it turned up my boy pointed out that the marking on the CPU showed it was an i5 worth about £200 in the box, luckily before the packaging had been opened.

Refunded immediately pending return. Returned it to Amazon via Collect+ at their expense. After a week it hadn't arrived with Amazon. Contacted them via webchat and they immediately cancelled all possible charges upon receipt.

Seems it wouldn't have been Amazons fault as the package was still factory sealed from Intel. How Intel managed to put an i5 CPU in an i7 box is a bit baffling though. Unless a sticky fingered employee had swapped them.

If you received a properly sealed package maybe they put the wrong thing in the box.
No doubt this means they have an extra ssd on the shelf.Easy for them to verify.
They get treated like gold and diamond miners in those warehouses so doubt anyone
could pull a scam with all the full orifice examination every day.

Sounds like OP would much rather accuse them of fraud on public forum before giving them chance to sort out the problem, which we all know they will probably do quite quickly without hassle hehe

Just let them do the investigation, it's not unreasonable, it's such a high value item that they're bound to want to check into it.

My experience with them when they've made a mistake has always been positive, had a PS4 which was marked as delivered when it wasn't and they sorted that out OK.

Ok, so they are investigating.

Why not wait and see what they say first?
