Recieved a PCN today as apparently car overstayed its welcome in a free parking area by 32 minutes. I thought it was between 9am and 6pm for 3hr limit on free parking.......clearly not, lol.
Car entered "car park" at 7.52 :11 and then left at 11.24:21.

The PCN says " do not ignore"
Must pay within 14 days.
No option about who was driving at the time. Just an invoice from 22nd September.

Does anybody have any previous dealings with "Smart Parking Ltd" ?

Do I pay up, not pay and appeal, ignore ?.......or is there a template letter for refusal based on the fact, they lost no money by parking, as it is a "free" car park.

Thanks in advance ;-)

Make a thread over on Pepipoo. 4 court hearings so far this year out of of 197341 PCNs so I wouldn't worry too much.

Pepipoo will aid you constructing your appeal but have a bit of a read of the the forum so you have a bit of an idea.

Smart Parking you say... Slightly different circumstances but you might find this interesting:

As above, also have a look Pepipoo. I understand from the chaps from there that Smart Parking are often quite sloppy with their signage and letters so you might have an easy way out.
