Nutcase van driver - illegal/cloned plates.
Discussion
Last week I had a bit of a run in with a van towing a caravan (I know what your thinking), the fool had stopped (for a chat apparently) on a blind bend totally blocking a busy junction as nobody could pass due to stationary traffic in the other direction, it was complete chaos. Eventually people kind of shuffled over and I could squeeze through, I sounded my horn for two reasons 1) to make sure nobody walked blindly out into my path and 2) because idiot.
Chap was not happy, shouted some abuse, waved arms about like a spastic and turns out a few minutes later decided to chase me through a village overtaking cars in a 30 zone (yes with a caravan in tow), I stop at a junction, look back and this nutter is running toward me from several cars back, wielding a claw hammer and shouting incoherently, I GTFO of there obviously.
Not a word of a lie, I did nothing to aggravate this psycho, no previous encounter, no verbal, no rage, nothing.
When I got home I ran the plates and found the van is registered as a small hatchback of the same make, so it's no wonder this nutter didn't care, there would have been no way to trace him.
I feel I should report this to the Police, if for no other reason than protecting the owner of the real car from speeding, parking and traffic offences that this crazy individual will undoubtedly rack up. But realistically what's the point?, won't they just assume it's a "pie person" and file the report in the bin? His accent was local, not that of the usually travelling individual, but that may not mean anything.........
So you ran the plates using facilities that state you must have reason for using them so have probably committed DPA offences but post a s
t story about you don't know why he chased you through a few villages?
t yourself and couldn't back it up. Take some man up pills and move on.

You sounded the horn because of reason number 2 but when confronted s
t yourself and couldn't back it up. Take some man up pills and move on.Forget it. No money in it so they won’t give a damn. A similar caravan lover tried to mow me down. In most cases that would be attempted murder but in Gainsborough it’s a crime number. 6 months later he did mow someone down deliberately and is now banged up. His victim is maimed for life.

Could you please explain how 'spastics' wave their arms?Chap was not happy, shouted some abuse, waved arms about like a spastic and turns out a few minutes later decided to chase me through a village overtaking cars in a 30 zone (yes with a caravan in tow), I stop at a junction, look back and this nutter is running toward me from several cars back, wielding a claw hammer and shouting incoherently, I GTFO of there obviously.

As per the definition, in an uncontrollable fashion........... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AArsrcX6yCs

Was the plate you run from the back of the caravan?
I would say about 4/10 caravams or trailers on the road have a different numberplate's to the vehicle towing it. Doesn't mean they don't own the mis matched plate though, usually another vehicle they own but forgot to swap the plates.
Depending on attitude this is £100 non end FPN.

never engage with ignorant or stupid people
let them live in their ignorance and stupidity
unfortunately we cannot count on "natural selection" on doing the good deed anymore
take the selfish attitude to leave them alone as long as they don't do you or your family harm
mankind is moving towards morlocks and eloi - just don't be the latter

If you report it to mr plod, they may well accuse you of starting the dispute by aggressively hooting.Chap was not happy, shouted some abuse, waved arms about like a spastic and turns out a few minutes later decided to chase me through a village overtaking cars in a 30 zone (yes with a caravan in tow), I stop at a junction, look back and this nutter is running toward me from several cars back, wielding a claw hammer and shouting incoherently, I GTFO of there obviously.

The plate belongs to a car that would not legally be able to pull that caravan.I would say about 4/10 caravams or trailers on the road have a different numberplate's to the vehicle towing it. You might want to have a word with the UK Government. They seem to be facilitating these "DPA offences".
