You have the log book? Call previous owner and ask them?

Yep - 1st & 3rd links go to a 3 door car with the reg plate completely obliterated in the pics but listed in the text on the ad by the trader.

2nd link goes to a 5 door car with the reg plate visible in the photos.

Edit - Bunged the reg in on Cazana and it links to the 5 door car in the OP's 2nd link and there is nothing to suggest it's a private plate that has been swapped between cars.

It looks like the trader selling the 3 door car, with the obliterated reg plates, has used the 5 door cars reg (for some reason) to list their car for sale. God knows why though.

Chances are that some admin twit at dealer with 29k car has hit the wrong reg number.

Wouldn't lose any sleep over it or go in all guns blazing.

For peace of mind call the dealer with the 29k car tomorrow - try to speak to used car sales manager.
They should remember a wrong reg as it will have caused issues all over the place. (former manager here)

Quite. And here's another thing.

There isn't much point in obliterating a plate in a pic and then listing the VRM in the body of the ad! rolleyes
The logical explanation for that is the pic has censored all to do with the car being offered for sale.
It's either a stock publicity one or it has been nicked from elsewhere.

A further demonstration of incompetence and laziness in equal measure.

When a dealer is selling lots of the same or similar cars it saves time to copy/paste another listing. The errors creep in when not properly making the necessary changes to correctly reflect the actual vehicle being advertised. Mistakes do happen and that's what I suspect here.
