Got a sofa from a well known store and the fabric is bobbling pretty badly and I believe shouldn’t be doing this after only 2 years of light use. The sofa is 4 months out of the warranty. What are my options under consumer law? Thanks

Under the Sales of Goods Acts, you have up to six years or within a reasonable time scale for the purposes of warranty. I personally would expect a sofa to last longer than 2 years and therefore I would say you have a pretty good case to ask for things to be remedied.

Is that the one replaced with The Consumer Rights act in 2015?

Going on the dates given by the OP it appears the sofa was bought around July 2015 which predates the October 2015 introduction of the CRA so the SOGA will apply in this case.

What about if you don't treat it properly?

How do you prove "light usage"?

I guess it all depends on how it has been treated. If it had chunks missing out of it, a leg broken off etc., then it would be fairly obvious that it had been subjected to some fairly enthusiastic use, however, if it looked clean and tidy but with fabric blemishes/bobbling, I would say it would be a good case for less than ideal quality.
