Pushing another car out of the way - potential charges?
Discussion
On trying to leave the station tonight, someone had driven into and stopped in the hatched area designed to keep the road clear so that people like me can leave the station. A minor but regular occurrence which is annoying.
Today's
was in a Fiesta, I was in a Discovery with four wheel drive and a low range gear box.
Whilst sitting there waiting for the hatched area to clear I fantasied about flicking the low range lever and gently pushing this chap out of the way, probably into the other lane, then driving off in a calm and relaxed manner.
IF i had done this, what charges might I face?
>Dangerous driving? - it would be a very slow and controlled push, rather than a ramming.
>Driving without due care and attention? - possibly, but I would have pushed him very carefully and heeding all other traffic regulations, certainly under the prevailing speed limit.
>Criminal damage? - Yes, I can see this!
Would my insurance cover this one?
Anything else?

Yeah right.. so it goes down like you say but of course its seen as massive 4x4 ramming a small car.. id have thought you would be charged with something involving endangering life, attempted murder as an extreme example (maybe not tho eh) ask the occupants to get out first to be safe.I can imagine the article on the local news website...
"VIDEO: The moment maniac in a 4x4 rams car in a busy station car park"
A terrified motorist has spoken of their horror at being rammed in a busy station car park. Mr X, 24, had stopped his car which was not an Audi or BMW briefly outside the station while his girlfriend was buying them both an overpriced coffee to keep them going on their 15 minute journey home, when out of no-where a large high-powered 4x4 Land Rover rammed his car out the way.
Speaking to our reporter, Mr X said "I've never been so scared in my life. I had to park there as my girlfriend is incapable of walking more than 20 yards to find me in the car park. I must have been there no more than 10 minutes and no one had said anything, and then all of a sudden this crazy driver rammed my car out the way, shouting something about not being able to get past. My car is now probably a write off and I've been signed off work for the last 2 weeks with stress because of this. And to make things worse, when my girlfriend came back she couldn't find me as my car was no longer directly outside the door, so our coffees got cold. I've been parking here for years and although sometimes a small queue forms behind me, no-one's ever complained. Perhaps the car park operator should provide more spaces directly outside the door".
Our reporter also spoke to the operator of the car park for comment, and asked if there were plans to provide more parking spaces for lazy b
ds who can't be arsed to walk, who replied with a brief statement that "they don't really care as long as they can keep charging extortionate fees for use of a poorly lit and under-maintained expanse of tarmac".
A spokesman for the local police has asked for witnesses to come forward.
