Kid near us was in an accident early summer. He was driving, a passenger was killed (there were three of them in the car, only two seats), I don't know the details but there were no other vehicles involved. I'm surprised to see him still driving, tbh. I would have expected him to have had his licence taken away. It was probably 5/6 months ago. What's the process? I'm assuming it will go to court but does that mean he's free to drive (like a tool) in the meantime?

Yes.

Before conviction - not charge you can't have a punishment imposed. Unless you are remanded. And technically that's not meant to be a punishment.

Usually within 6 months I thought? Or maybe that's just speeding.

May be longer if it has to go to magistrates or if he pleaded not guilty etc.

Just wondered about the process. I reckon it was April/May when it happened. Obviously there's no reason to believe he's not entitled to drive, but thought there must be some sort of measures in place, especially after another kid got killed. I'm assuming it will go to court, or is it just a slap on the wrists? I'm just surprised that he's still driving really.

Do you know his full name? Try Google with the town name and you might find something in the local paper.

Why are you certain that he’d get banned? He may have already had his punishment and received points or even found not guilty of whatever he was charged with.

Perhaps because someone got killed, by the driver of the car. Are you some sort of fking idiot where no-one takes responsibility for anything they do? I fking I hope I don't meet people like you on the road. Jeeez

Plenty of people are killed on the road each year and the drivers aren’t always banned.

Or to put it in your style.

fk you, you fking idiot. Some fking drivers don’t get fking banned when they fking kill someone you fking moron.

Is that easier for you to understand?
