Space is a premium on our street near central London. Permit costs are high. Recently we have had a car parking in one of the permit bays and you guessed it... doesn’t have a permit.

Left a note on his car: “Please can you buy a permit or park elsewhere.” Came back to find the note ripped up and the car there again the next morning.

Contacted the council. They were great and attended out of hours to issue a penalty notice. Next day? Car is back there. The council said they will keep issuing penalties until he gets the message. He must have had 3 in a week!

Unfortunately, we do not have CCTV and have only seen the owner once... walking away fast and entering a flat. My guess is a new toy boy for the cougar a few flats away.

Anything else we can do? Running out of ideas.

Pop round and offer the cougar a go on your juju stick, if she dumps him he'll stop parking there.

Keep reporting, if persistent enough they'll lift the car to the pound on top of tickets.

Inconvenience if not costs may do it

Why on earth should you want to do anything?

Unless you want to be a traffic warden leave the council too it, with three tickets he will soon get the message.

Take a knife to their tyre valve stems

Smear dog poop under the door handles

Coat the vehicle in flour and then spray it with water (or allow the rain to its thing)

Lash a rope to it and pull it into the road and call the police for it being an obstruction

You've done your bit. He's probably rich enough to buy a permit or pay the fines or his sugar mommy is.

You can't reason with that level of entitlement and you'll only stress yourself out. You'll get told to "hammer frozen sausages into the cougar" or "dominate the pavement" but where they don't present an imminent threat there's no need for you to confront or take action.

If someone can't be bothered to buy a parking permit I can almost guarantee they won't bother paying parking tickets either.

Obviously the only answer is dog st under the handles.

Leave some of your “Man fat” on the windscreen along with a note with a big “X” on it.
It’s probably best to prepare it first as otherwise there may be a whole world of pain if you’re caught in the act.

Steal the numberplates and drive through speed / red light cameras with them.

Note: this is a joke...

I keep a chalk marker I acquired from work in my car. Never had to use it, but would leave a message on the windscreen for anyone who blocks me in, parks inconsiderately, etc.

Bit of a pain in the arse to get off compared to a note so gets the message across, but does no damage to the vehicle.

Just tune in to 'don't pay we'll take it away' next year for satisfaction.

A recent one I heard about
Someone badly parked had his valve cores removed and given to the place of business receptionist.
Very amusing as the cores were removed but left at reception for the driver to have refitted and tyres inflated but was a inconvenience as he had to wait a couple of hours for breakdown service to sort it as how many folk carry a valve key or know what one is

Amazing how the entitled parking crew aren’t on here. Normally they’d be all over the speculative invoice (I know it s a council one, so don’t bother with that angle), pepipoo, lost revenue and all sorts of other crap to support the poor Parker who’s being victimised by the big, bad council and their fines.

Sorry, forgot to say, as per the other recent thread, smash a window and petrol bomb the car.

Lets say i am the guy in question

I get onto pepipoo and tell them i have been parking in bays without a permit, and do not live there and only visiting

Their answer will be

1) does the person you are visiting have a visitors permit you can use

2) if not pay up and park elsewhere

You answered your own question. Council ticket so entirely deserved as backed up by legislation and they are a statutory authority and all of your points bear no relation to breaching a TRO

The parking tickets are the penalty for parking there without a permit. There is nothing you can do over and above that. Not sure why you think there is any other option.
