Driving untaxed, but MOT'ed and insured car to an MOT test.
Discussion
I'm fully aware that you can drive a car with no MOT and is SORN'ed to an MOT test, as long as it's insured and the MOT test is pre-arranged.
However, if that car does still have a valid MOT (and is insured), can you still drive it to a pre-arranged MOT test while it's still SORN'ed or is it inherently implied that because it still has a valid MOT, it must also be taxed to be on the road?
My MK1 Eunos Roadster is insured and has less than a month remaining on it's MOT, but it's currently SORN'ed. I'm planning to sell it, hence the need to get it MOT'ed again, but although I could tax it beforehand, as the main reason for selling it is financial, I don't want to have to pay to tax it just yet, if I don't have to!
I do realise I'll need to tax it before anyone takes it on a test drive, but I'll do that when the time comes.

That says if it does NOT have an MOT you can drive to get an MOT without road tax.
He already has an MOT
A good reason to go to the fountainhead, i.e. the relevant legislation rather than anywhere else.He already has an MOT
VERA 1994 Schedule 2 Section 22 - http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1994/22/schedu...
A vehicle is an exempt vehicle when it is being used solely for the purpose of...
Nothing whatsoever in the Act about whether it has a current certificate or not.
A vehicle can be submitted for test up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date.
It would be a nonsense if the VERA exemption was thereby lost.
