Clamped vehicle (odd one)
Discussion
Just curious if there is a logical explanation to this one?
There is a people carrier of some sort parked outside a local school and its been clamped and not moved for at least 10 days.
It's not on a marked area, no restrictions etc It's just sitting there with a clamp on the offside front wheel. Not seen a note or anything on it.
Just curious as I drive past it every day wondering who and why it would be clamped?
I did think "theft deterrent" but its it no shape anyone would nick it!

or some bailiffs will clamp for unpaid debts.
Possibly more likely than DVLA, especially if it has been there for some time. Bailiffs taken possession of the car whilst the debt is paid. Car not lifted and shifted though as that would mean debtor owing more so self defeating.cptsideways said:
The dvla contractors had a blitz round are way last week, I think they ran out of clamps
They did the same round my way, in conjunction with the Police, back in 2016. About a third of all cars parked on the high street had ended up being clamped with stickers applied saying No Tax, No MOT, No Insurance or in some cases a combination of all 3.

The DVLA contract out the tax clamping. A van with ANPR cameras on it just drives down the road and gets a ping for every car without tax. They can then clamp the car, but they will come back and lift them and take them to the pound, from where they will be sold. you can find some surprising cars in the pound awaiting sale.
If this is the only car in the area clamped its almost certainly a bailiff not the DVLA. The DVLA will probably be along to clamp a different wheel soon!
