I recently bought a classic car from a friend of mine in the UK. The car has been registered in the UK for all of its life, that is 45 years now. I am a german national and live in Germany, and travel to the UK several times a year for pleasure (not for business). The car is garaged in the UK (Kent) where the friend I bought it from lives, and it is roadworthy.

Is there any chance that I could register this car in my name in the UK, without being resident? Insurance does not seem to be a problem, it is the question of registering it. I want everything to be 100 % just so.

I am aware that any solution might be invalid by 2019, but I am curious whether it is possible to keep (and use) the car in the UK at least until then. Thanks for you help!

No problem at all - you just need a UK address. So long as your friend is happy to forward you post, or deal with it for you, that's good enough.
