This might have escaped your notice, but not all roads are motorways.
This might've escaped your eyes but I only mentioned motorways
it's okay it's just old age.

I have only ever seen 1 speed camera van on any motorway ever. Are they really an issue?
Please tell me you're joking! They are everywhere on all motorways. The worst excess of them I have seen is the Border regions, southern stretch of the M74, Northern section of the M6 on a daily basis. And now reporting at even lower speeds.
The worst form of entrapment in the whole enforcement industry.

Obviously if there are average speed cameras on a road there cannot also be mobile cash-camera vans. You can only be prosecuted one for a single offence.
The vans will simply move elsewhere.
But if it's 300 yards away then it's not the same single offence The vans will simply move elsewhere.

An unrealistic example, but think about it:
there were 4 cameras on the same stretch of road spaced 300 yards apart (so a total of 900 yards overall), and you broke the speed limit past all 4 cameras, would you really expect to be prosecuted for 4 offences over such a short distance, and end up being banned from driving due to getting 12 points for the 900 yards?

300 yards further own the same stretch of road would be a continuation of the same offence, so it would be a single offence.

Good question, haven't really thought about it like that.An unrealistic example, but think about it:

At what point does it become a seperate offence? Say you are caught on the M4 near Bristol and then near Swindon by 2 seperate camera vans?
