Legal recommendation - recovering costs
Discussion
Hi All,
Would anybody be able to recommend me a legal firm to assist with the recovery of costs and damage to professional reputation resulting from an insurance company/their solicitors failing to defend/reply to court documentation which resulted in a CCJ (thankfully now set aside), significant professional embarrassment and resulted in me accruing ~£2k of additional interest costs.
There is a full trail of correspondence (and likely recorded phone calls) confirming that it would never get to CCJ stage owing to the repercussions but alas it did.
Any help/pointers greatly appreciated.

I'm a bit confused, if the CCJ was in your name then the court claim form must have been in your name and presumably sent to your address as would the Judgement have been?
You need a professional negligence specialist by the sound of it, I don't have experience of finding one of them.
If they haven't answered your complaint then complain to the professional body they come under, a court will expcet you to exhaust that route before making a claim anyway.

Indeed it was - forms sent and immediately sent over to the insurance co/solicitors that were still negotiating liability, regularly chased and always assured that all was in hand and being defended, it wasn't.......then there was the judgement, still caught before the 28 days - sent again and chased, confirmed that if not sorted prior to period expiry it would just be settled to keep it off my file, chased weekly and assured that all was in hand.....it wasn't and I ended up having a CCJ sitting on my name for 5 months, required disclosure to my current compliance department, my future compliance department and the FCA and likely impacting my bonus and remuneration and meaning I couldn't manage my outstanding debts in the way my history dictated I had been and would continue doing so, running up ~£2k in interest costs that would otherwise have been avoided.
