Car insurance at uni address?
Discussion
I was wondering if its okay to have my car insured at my university address instead of at home. Reasons are its a lot cheaper to insure it there and also thats where i stay for most of the year. Will this count as insurance fraud? Also do you think it will be a bit weird if i tell my insurance company to send all the documents to my home address?
Interesting one!!
My lad is at Uni in Southampton but leaves his car here in Wiltshire.
He comes home by train at the weekends and uses the car to go to his weekend job.
So while he lives in Southampton, the car is kept, used and resides in Wiltshire 99% of the time.
So what's the right thing to do?

Clearly?
Are you on drugs this evening or just pissed-up as usual?
Need to be on the electoral role at the uni address?
Where do you get this stuff from?
Why would you not be? You have to be registered to get free council tax plus can then vote in council/General elections etc Are you on drugs this evening or just pissed-up as usual?

Takes minutes to change.
I used to keep my bike in a lock-up next to my girlfriend (now wife's) house, but had the bike registered to my flat. Before that, the bike was in my brother's garage. In both cases, I declared to the bike insurers that it was being kept at those addresses and after an initial "so how are you going to get to it when you live miles away" discussion where it was explained that it was a weekend toy & I'd drive my car there, they accepted it and the insurance schedule showed that address as the place where the bike was kept overnight. This is defo something that's better done by phone to the insurance company - if nothing else, there will be a recording of the call where it's clear that you honestly declared the situation and they accepted it.
