Will I be charged for changing incorrect detail on insurance
Discussion
As most of us probably do I used one of the price comparison websites to get the best deal on motor insurance renewal. On receiving my documents from the new insurer I noticed the date on which I had passed my test was incorrect. This has happened because the price comparison site only asked for how many years I had held my license, not the date on which I had passed my test.
My question is, will I be charged by the insurance company to correct this information? Seeing as its a new policy and errors can occur when they are setup I would hope not.
Thanks!

Did exactly this recently.
Insurance company asked when i passed my test, i had no idea other than late teens so gave rough idea and i stated exactly that.
I submitted the DVLA access & copies of my licence & was informed a day later my policy had been updated to show correct pass date. No extra charge was incurred.

I wouldn't worry about it, I noticed on my bike insurance that my test passed date was 15 years out.
I queried it with the insurance company, they explained that their system only used date going back 20 years!
The fact that I passed my test on a date their system couldn't cope with didn't seem to bother them!

Some charge, others don't. Some will say in the documentation you receive after starting a new policy "You must inform us within xx days if you notice any mistakes, omissions etc.
If a charge is requested, if it's within 14 days you could always point out that you "could" go and shop elsewhere.
If I was asked to pay I'd decide if the information was actually that important. I will tell people I've had a license for 25 years, but the actual pass date I'm really not worried about.
