Hands up, caught speeding by hidden camera...first time ever in my 39 year driving career!! Its probably long overdue!

Anyhow the letter from the Luxembourg Police states that I was doing 135Km/h in a 90 zone so a 149EUR fine and 2 points on my license. Can the Luxembourg police enforce the points to my license?

My mate whom I was following (on motorbikes) is in the same situation!

Thanks

Yes, it will be - as the UK does for Johnny Foreigner here. But no points going onto the OP's UK licence, which is what the OP was (I presume) meaning.

OP, please have a look at the credit card-shaped thing in your wallet that is proof that you are allowed to drive or ride. It has a picture of you on it, and some words and stuff. Have a look at the word that begins with L THAT IS PRINTED RIGHT THERE ON IT. Then come back and tell us where the s is.

Apologies if the question was not totally clear...yes the question was if the points noted on the "notice of offence" can be applied to my UK driving license. I am a UK resident.
A couple of sources have indicated that they cannot...yet?

We all have bad days...

It's odd how you flip from being very helpful to being a complete wk.

Is it a medical condition? It would explain a lot.
Yep, I am allergic to the willfully semi-literate. The pills have worn off.

“The RAC has, however, been advised by the Department for Transport that there is no transfer of penalty points to UK drivers’ licences for speeding offences committed abroad."

I feel sorry for people who correct grammar in that manner to be honest. It’s clear they have some kind of inferiority complex and are looking for small wins to make themselves feel better than others.

Perhaps some people have a quaint attachment to concepts such as education, clarity, attention to detail, and all that old Baloney. Shocking stuff, I know.

I see that you have no objection to the Oxford comma.

At the end of the day gramma and literature are not my strong points...I had further education to a reasonable standard in Engineering and have never worked in an environment where perfect grammar is required, although I do get involved with technical manuals and communications, but we have a checking process and errors are caught.

My comments and posts may not be perfect but would warrant a 7/8 out of 10...there are no shortage which would not warrant a 2/10, sadly. Strange though because I get irritated when people use poor or lazy language, and that`s coming from me who is less than perfect, so I understand.

The part that's shocking is that you felt you needed to respond in a sarcastic and belittling manner, rather than politely point out the error so the poster learns something and knows for next time (especially as you say you have an attachment to education).

We are on a car forum on the internet, not in a higher English class or a university lecture FFS.

OK, stick to low standards, that's fine. Or, maybe, er, lighten up a bit? C'mon, people, it says LICENCE right there on yuh all y'all licences already!

This is a bit like people thinking that a V5 is proof of ownership despite it saying in mahoosive writing on every V5: THIS IS NOT FRICKEN PROOF OF DIDDLY JACK SQUAT, JACKASS!
