Is this a sort of Jason Statham thing? Are we talking many kilos of primo Chang stashed in the doors, or dead hookers in the boot, or is it just unmannerly driving?

PS: THEIR.

Don't be ridiculous.

Statham would never actually have his car seized.

Yes, I imagine over the years plenty of Brits have been relieved of their cars by the Plod de Belge. Has it just happened to "a friend" of yours? IIRC they can confiscate permanently for no insurance, and impound for drink driving, suspicion of no insurance, and suspicion of involvement in bigger nastier crimes. Not sure about speeding/hooning.

Irresponsible driving but no evidence of the nature. a couple of uk plated cars were driving like utter bellends in-between traffic etc. i went past a car that got pulled and i was the next one to be pulled.

Ive admitted i was speeding but they won't return my car

Fully insured and no drink driving they didn't even do a test. They havent given me any documentation for the car impounded either

I suspect that shouting at Johnny Foreign Copper about British Exceptionalism whilst in possession of a ruddy complexion may also be a valid ground for seizure. I hope, however, that in this instance it was the feared International Grammar Police who dealt out swift and impeccable justice.

PS: haven't

I wonder -

(1) How many Audis or Rice Rockets were on their way to or from the Ring?

(2) How many of them were painted white?

(3) How many of them had PH stickers and after market tailpipes?

(4) Who had more tats? The drivers or the WAGs at home?

Joking apart, what you need is a lawyer in Brussels. What you do not need is advice from made up people on a UK car forum.

PM agtlaw of this Parish to see if he knows of a good motoring lawyer in Brussels.

Point of pedant accuracy. Only some of us are made up.

However being fair most of our advice is made up, and your advice is 100% correct. As usual.

Maybe they were just taking a lead from the locals - worst (non-Brit) drivers in Western Europe IME.

Hope you get your car back in one piece.

This is totes true. The Stath would use mega DRIVAN SKILLZ YO and/or extra double extreme levels of ultra-violence to avoid seizure. l would assume that the standard PH'er would do the same.

The Embassy (or more appropriately the Consular Service, as this would be a Consular matter rather than a main embassy matter) will most likely say that they cannot interfere with local law enforcement. They may recommend a local lawyer.
