Says it was a manned camera so a van i assume, the road is a 40 limit hence my 39.
Not sure on the area as was passing through its Groby Road in leicester, google search says 40 mph limit...

I'm guessing i simply pay up and take the points, but still anyone from that area know anything about that stretch of road?

What did the signage say?

It's entirely possible that the limit has changed since the Google images.

its 40 but i imagine it drops to 30 with no signs and that is where the van sits, so i would of gone past it at 39 thinking "i'm wining" and he would of been sat in the van thinking "you tt..."

I'll pay it, £100. Lets hope it goes towards fixing pot holes....

Go back to the road see if it really is 40!

If it is then appeal it if it’s not then you might get a speed awareness course

It is 40 for ages, then according to google street view goes into a 30 but no signs, so great place for a camera van....very clever.
Silly of me really but can't help feeling it is a bit of a scam really, 16 years with no points blah blah blah.

Is this what you missed, perhaps? Limits around Leicester are - like many city centres - an absolute nightmare to follow properly.

For the benefit of our younger members, many years ago such signs had to be on black and white poles. Grey doesn't quite catch the eye the same way. Maybe that's why they changed.
Also in this case, the nearside sign is set back quite a way from the carriageway. Almost as though they don't want you to see them..............

Why the hell would you accept £100 + 3 points if you are certain that the alleged speeding offence did not occur?

Maybe that's why they painted the 30's on the road as well as on the poles.

Realistically you shouldn't need either.... urban area, street lights: 30

Or maybe 20 in some areas, so maybe good signage would help.

Doesn't even need to be an urban area if it's got lighting, though the two together is a bloody good clue that it's a 30 limit.
Having said that, on my commute I used to go through a built up area with street lights (though nicely hidden by trees), no repeaters, and it was NSL.
