Hi All,

Just looking for some advice please

My car has been clocked speeding (36mph) on 17/06/18, Mobile Van I think?

The letter has only just arrived and is dated 07/07/18
Clearly this is over the 14 days NIP.

Just out of interest is there not a time limit ? Is there anything I can do ? I’m guessing just need to fill out the form and move on,

Purely wishful thinking no doubt but thanks for any advice

MM

Are you the registered keeper of the vehicle?

Who is the registered keeper of the vehicle? Yourself or lease company/company?

The fact the nip is actually dated after the 14 days pretty much gives you a slam dunk get off. How ever it is very unusual to be this late without a reason, so don't get too exited.

To add to the above have you recently moved? check the doc ref date on the V5c,

Thanks for the replys

Its on a Lease Direct with Volvo so obviously I am not the registered keeper.
I moved about 2 years ago and have had the car since March.
I knew in advance that the fine would be on the way as Volvo kindly charge £15 admin.

Would this make any difference to the timings?

Could this be my lucky day ?!!!!!

Many Thanks for any advice

No, as Volvo would have received the NIP (most likely within the 14 days) and nominated to you. At that stage, the 14 day clock was no longer relevant.

Nope, its 14 days to the registered KEEPER, not the driver as your not the KEEPER you can't use this and volvo most likely got it within the period.

14 days to the REGISTERED KEEPER. OP appears to be the keeper, but not the registered keeper.

You are right re the 14 days, but with my pedant hat on, the OP is the KEEPER, but not the registered KEEPER.

Your post actually says this:

"as your (sic) not the KEEPER you can't use this"

I'll leave it for others to explain the distinction to you.

It's one of those words that if you say it enough times (regardless of CASE), it sounds really weird...

keeper
keeper
keeper
keeper
keeper
keeper
keeper
keeper
keeper
keeper
keeper
.
.
.
ETA: do I get a prize for making the same point as agtlaw at exactly the same minute?
