Accident and car not been changed over to new address

A few days ago my parents moved into their new house, now with all the moving malarkey my dad changed the insurance policy over to the new address but hasn’t yet sent off for the V5 change of address. My mum had an accident this morning and has written the car off (she’s ok just badly bruised) my question is will their insurance be void as the V5 is at the old address and insurance is at the new?

I would doubt it very much! If that was the case there would be thousands of people driving around un-insured whilst DVLA changed their details. Address shouldn't affect an accident claim

Won't be an issue. Would have been worse the other way, DVLA made aware but insurers not told, especially if they'd moved from Cornwall to Central London and the accident took place in London.
