I've became aware of a car which is being driven daily and that has no road tax, MOT or insurance

I made the DVLA aware of this on Sunday via their online form on Gov.uk. Does anybody know how quickly they act, if at all?

The tax ran out in February and the MOT two months later. The female driver is Romanian and said it's too expensive to pay for it all. These people are a menace to law abiding citizens like you and I

If you have reported it, let them deal with it.

TBH, even if they did get fined, slap on the wrist etc etc, they will carry on doing it anyway.

That's the problem

I don't see why not?

It costs me a lot of money to VED, insure, MOT and maintain all my vehicles.

One thing that utterly grips my st is when others think those rules don't apply to them, and worse, they get away with it because no one gives a st.

I would happily stand and watch people having their cars taken off them and crushed for having no insurance or MOT.

But unless they catch them in the act - not much they are going to do. We have a car which parks up at the end of our cul de sac and then walks over the park somewhere (leaves the car for 1,2,3...more days). Someone noticed no tax then MOT then insurance. When I spoke to 101 I was told "well if you get a video of them driving we may be able to do something more" mad

What is her being Romanian got to do with it? Or female for that matter?

OP , given that the DVLA dont seem to have acted quickly enough for you, I mean they must have a dept and an operative sitting in anticipation of your call, you should now take matters into your own hands.
Slip on the fake leather driving gloves , your best beige cardigan and get those Velcro fasteners on the shoes done up tightly.
Once you apprehend said miscreant ( being careful not to break the chain on your glasses thats around your neck ) scold the person by detailing the error of their ways.
Then post on here asking advice on who you can sue.

Do 101 even know the law ?

You need 2 or all 3 of those just to park in the street.

In my experience they normally respond to reports within a couple of days providing they can find the car. If you report via their website there is a question about the location and times where the car is regularly parked. If they attend and it's not there then it's going to appear as though they have ignored the report. If they do find it then they'll clamp it to start with.

If it's there at regular times then report it via the DVLA website. They will come out and deal with it.

The fact that the driver has not MOT, tax or insurance is relevant. The fact that they are female and Romanian is not.

In that instance it's, "...like you and me," not, "...like you and I."
