found this on another forum

''There was a case a few years ago when some plods (I'll call them that due to the circumstances) ran into the back of a motorist who had stopped at red traffic lights.

It was daylight in good weather.

Q Who was to blame?

A The motorist who stopped at the red light.

Fact.

Keith

There ought to be a court record of this case, any idea how I might be able to search for it?''

The OP thinks it was in the Birmingham Area about 20-30 years ago

So PH sleuths off you go!!

He said fact, so it must be true.

A lot more.

There ain't no way somebody just stopping normally at a red light could ever be held responsible for being tail-ended, whether the other driver was police on blues and twos or not.

There would need to be a lot more. Police almost certainly not Fire Brigade in limited circumstances maybe. . . .

Is this thread attempting to set a new record for Millennial-style internet laziness?

Bloke reads load of improbable baloney on random website. Bloke can't even be arsed to look up load of improbable baloney, so asks bunch of randoms on other random website to do so for him. Result: no one can be arsed to do such a pointless thing.

Top tip for OP: looking up made up bks that never happened is hard to do anyway. Best not to bother.

Surely the correct approach here is to ask the original poster on the original forum to provide links to prove his ascertation of "FACT"? He can then provide the link and we can all marvel at this seemingly barmy court decision.
