Hi, I was on my way to an event after a tiring day of work and was driving normally/legally.

I came to a junction with a camera I was aware of, which waze informs me is a red light camera (and so is also listed on leicestershire cameras as a red light camera).

The light was green on approaching + I was in the turning lane to turn right at the junction, and behind a white van, which entered the middle of the junction and I did so not far behind him as there weren't many cars ahead I anticipated we could both turn before the cars ahead came. He seemed to hesitate and for whatever reason didn't turn, so I kept my position behind him partly in the junction. There was a whole queue of cars coming in the opposite direction and there was no chance of turning, they obviously stopped when the light turned amber, and he completed his turn out of the junction and went off, but since it was amber and going to turn red and I was aware of the camera, I didn't move at all. So I was kind of somewhat after the stop line but not halfway in the junction. I was braked at this point until the light went green again, and then went ahead and turned and went off.

I have a picture below of where my car was the whole time (white box = my car)

I've read a bit about red light cameras but I don't understand the wording too well. Because I'm in the junction stationary when the light turned red, is there still a chance i'll get done for that? I hand't moved at all from the time the light was green to red and was in the position on the photo. I'd rather explain it properly and get some answers to know what to expect because stuff like this stresses me out.

Also, the camera is now different and has been updated to the one in the image as thats from google maps 2017. I believe its still a truvelo camera but a newer one with a seperate infar-red post near it with a red-ish glowly dotty light.

Thanks[

I have no idea how the cameras work, but the vehicle or part of the vehicle has to cross the stop line in contravention of the red light. So if you are stationary, before, on top of or behind the line for the whole red phase no offence.
I **THINK** they take 2 images to show just that.

Actually there was a question in that 'rambling *' about how likely I was to receive a ticket but clearly I guess your internet forum moodiness syndrome probably either missed it or you like to babyrage + add zero discussion value to a genuine question from someone asking for some advice from anyone who knows more....

Top tip: If the red light cameras are the old Gatso ones that activate via loops in the tarmac, you can go through a red light under 15mph and it won't catch you thumbup

No part of your vehicle crossed the line while the lights were red and therefore no offence committed.

No movement and so no detection by the camera.

Don't they have to double flash to prove movement?
