Someone I know is in court today. From thelawpages.com and causelist.org I can see developments in the case (adjournments, jury sworn in, etc).
How can I find what they are charged with?

Didn't actually think anybody has to explain why they asked a question.

Google helps a lot. Sometimes it readily gives up info without much searching.

Otherwise if it that important, turn up and sit in the public gallery.

Already googled to no effect. Too far to go and not important enough to warrant taking time off.

That's what I'll do; just a bit surprised that it's not in the public domain.

What benefit would the public gain from near real time updates of every case?

Well you get near real-time updates in adjournments, swearing in of jurors and other stuff - while the charge is presumably unvarying !

Professionals use xhibit. http://xhibit.justice.gov.uk

Contact the court for charge details.
