cut a long story short my mate paid £21k for a RR sport in october last year as he travels some low lands for work and wanted the 4x4.

come february he pranged it into some old dears fence at low speed as he went down an incline, all in slow mo - you know the one where u brake and then slide at 10mph stright into the ditch, or fence.

damage was that slight that when he sent me a pic i cldnt see it, but he had broad sided the fence and done some damage to the sill and down the passenger side.

it went to the insurnace approved bodyshop for 4 mnths, got it back and they was still trim missing - the RR badges at the front and the light up RR sill plate etc not working - so took it back for another month. got it back end of Sept and was a rumbling sound so took it back again.

the bodyshop sent it to a RR dealer where it is currently still there now! so basically its been of the road for 8 mnths, hes had a hire car the netire time, would hate to think of the cost that will be to the insurer.

question is what can he do about it?

Maybe your mate should ask the question if it becomes an issue for him.

What exactly is your issue?

Have a similar issue at the moment - but get weekly updates on what’s going on - maybe just ask them and not PH?

It shouldn’t take much more than two weeks generally, there may be parts supply issues?

I’ve seen a Vauxhall Astra ‘Bertone’ in the garage for many months because Vauxhall couldn’t supply a rear quarter panel for instance.

This would be ringing alarm bells for me. Does he know the insurer has definitely agreed to pay for this bill when they get it?
