presume you need to display some kind of warning regarding CCTV if you have one of those dashcams that films when someone approaches the car when it is parked? If you don't do this for other types of CCTV then evidence gathered through it can be inadmissible. So why then does it feel like a dick move to have a small yellow sticker in the window, even if it is just a simple warning?

Place it next to the 'Baby On Board' sticker for added effect.

The problem isn't the dashcam. It's only the small but visible minority that drive like wkers in order to "prove" the other guy is at fault and out it on youtube.

The problem is that the presence of the sticker hints that the owner may well be in that camp.

I have no beef with dashcams but if I see a dashcam sticker I assume you are the type to be deliberately un-helpful just to get it on video and prove a point. The type who might decide to assert your right of way for the camera rather than (for example) ease off a bit to help someone join or merge.

Thankfully my assumption is wrong most of the time, but having been behind the odd such road warrior (one of whom actually stopped in L1 alongside a merging lorry rather than let the bloody thing join the otherwise free-flowing motorway) I would rather just give them all a wide berth for an easy life.

So I suppose in a sense the sticker has done it's job....

Our works car have dashcams fitted, and have stickers too. Something about corporate liability or other BS. However it doesn't take a genius to work out that driving like a dick in a branded company car that's booked out to one person at a time, is an easy way to get hauled up.

Family have a driving school, most have dashcams, only a few have stickers.

The ones with stickers see less road rage / aggression, although it doesn't stop everyone.

My brother caught a fight between two other learner cars where on of the people got knocked out, police found it very helpful

the point is, that if the car is recording wherever i park it and that place accidentally happens to be somewhere where it could be classed as an infringement of privacy unless a sign is displayed, then any offence taking place against my property could be inadmissible, couldn't it?

People have no right to privacy in a public space. Public space being accessible by the public like a car park, shop etc...

I think dashcams are a great idea, but the posting of videos online for entertainment should be illegal. I think its like that in Austria? Could be wrong. Would stop the DCW brigade accelerating towards cars on mini roundabouts and posting it on YT

And having a sticker is toss too

First time I'd seen such a thing and thought it was worth capturing for when the inevitable thread appeared on Pistonheads wink

There's a car in my area that has stickers all over it warning of cameras on board, there must be four on the back, a few down the sides and even one on the bonnet.

When you get closer to it he's got two dashcams in the front and two in the rear and it's just some old cantankerous idiot who drives everywhere at 2-3mph below speed limits to annoy people.

The amount of times I have been following some trumped up wanna be copper doing 40 in a 60 (and obviously the same through a 30), sitting up his arse and he is pointing at his dashcam all the time. And then of course speeds up as you pass.

I wish there was a sign I could make, that said, "spend more time learning what the signs are instead of watching tour rear mirror"

I am sure these people don't feel normal driving unless they have clear road in front and a queue behind, and they get twice as bad at night!

Mine is there for car park dints, and insurance reasons. I forget it's there 99.99999% of the time.

Really 2 - 3 mph? If someone said they were doing 10 - 15 mph below it in good conditions I could understand.

But 2 - 3 mph people need their head checking as that is what many (including me) would consider absolutely reasonable in terms of driving around about the speed limit subject to prevailing conditions.

Or maybe if you are in fact a tailgater (by the sounds of it you are) then just hold back if you knowingly know he is an a hole?

Why get wound up by other people's actions ultimately?
