This isn't a problem of mine. I read posts on a football forum and there is a non football section where people post.

The thread is here
https://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?top...

The topic i'm asking about is post 251 about a BMW 3 series timing chain and the following replies.

The poster has no rights to a warranted repair as he has gone over the 3,000 miles that the warranty includes by 2,000 but he is adamant that because it is within 6 months of him purchasing from the dealer that he is entitled to a repair.

How far will he get in the legal system?

The dealer sold him the car, he is saying, with an outstanding recall too. He has posted that the law states a £2,500 fine will be handed to the dealer because he has sold the car with the outstanding recall and he will bribe the dealer to pay for the engine repair instead of reporting him.

Any thoughts by the legals on here? I enjoy reading on here and i'm interested how much help he will get.
With his attitude, completely against everyone who has told him he is In the wrong on that thread, I hope it isn't much at all.

The poster is aware of CRA and is correct in stating it is up to the dealer to prove fault didn't exist at time of sale.

Faced with comments from the usual muppets who even now 3 years later are still ignorant of a consumer's rights under CRA 2015 I can quite understand why the poster's attitude might be a bit testy.

An entertaining read.
Apparently he spoke to the dealer yesterday afternoon & the dealer is paying for it all. Post 361 in the thread.

Had the poster bothered running it through the DVLA website before buying it he would have known about the recall then.

Before buying a car - especially older ones that have been in production for a while - it isn't THAT difficult to carry out a little internet research for yourself to see what issues have been flagged up.
