Depends if you are in full on police grass mode or not.

Have a word with yourself.

Sorry, but it does seem to happen a lot. Someone either pulls out or doesn’t slow down. I assume it’s classed as dangerous driving?
I class it as poor anticipation/observation.

I would, eventually the arrogant tosser will end up smashing into an innocent victim.

Better someone has a word with him before he's caused injury.

Sorry but the Police aren't going to waste their time looking at a video of someone failing to give way properly, actually causing an accident or blatant dangerous driving then fair enough

Post the footage and the forum will decide.

Alternatively, someone has made a mistake and learned from it.

I wouldn't. Leaving aside contentious language like "grass", it may have been a one-off. If it's somewhere you drive regularly and you see the guy doing the same, that's the time to consider submitting footage.

This afternoon I made a terrible mistake while driving - fortunately without causing an accident - thanks 100% to the other driver's reaction. I wasn't distracted, wasn't using the phone, I failed to see a car coming who had right of way.

I drive more than 30.000 km per year, I haven't had an accident in 20 years. My last speeding ticket was in about 1994. I like to think I'm a reasonably good driver. I also have a track car, which gets regualr outings. Since I've been doing track days, my road driving has become much more relaxed.

I see examples of inconsiderate driving just about every time I go out in my car - no, not my own! If I had a dashcam I'd be submitting footage several times a week if inconveniencing another driver was the criteria.

So this happens to the OP a lot, but I can’t remember it having happened to me, certainly not in the last few years. And I don’t see it happening to other people all that often either. That leads me to wonder whether the OP himself is the common factor.

If it were happening to me a lot, I would firstly be looking at my own driving. Is it because I’m signalling too early to leave the roundabout, giving other drivers the impression that I’m leaving at this exit when in fact I’m continuing to the next exit? Signal timing is especially critical when you’re signalling to leave a roundabout. Or is my road positioning fooling other drivers into a similar misinterpretation?

I see your logic. When I say ‘a lot’ I guess I remember instances where it happened to me, and I see it happening to others. There’s one particular urban roundabout, with a 3 lane entry where - genuinely - I almost expect someone to pull out in front of me from that particular entry, and it’s definitely not because of an indication error on my part.

This was a smaller roundabout, but the guy just carried on in front of me.

A smaller roundabout you say.
Were you actually physically on the roundabout (over give way lines) when they started pulling out or were you approaching the roundabout yourself?

We need a video, a diagram, map or street view, I think. Was it a mini-roundabout that was once a T- junction? I can’t say it has happened to me, such that I felt a collision was imminent. Someone being a bit cheeky would not be dashcam footage the police would be interested in, mainly because it would be judgement that could only be made at that time, in situ.

I don’t want to do that on a public forum, especially if it’s nothing deemed serious. I’m not sure I can upload video anyway.

I was wondering earlier after I saw a VW Polo and VW Golf enter the M8 at speed, weave between cars using the hard shoulder and exit at the A8 - should I have rung the police? The number plates were tinted and dirty so no chance of reading them but they were doing in excess of 100mph.

Plod must be thoroughly cheesed off with a nation that has become sanctimonious & judgemental taking a vindictive delight in filming & reporting every petty motoring incident. Suddenly if you're a nobody you can be a somebody.
No doubt such filmed evidence might be of value in the case of an accident but best mind your own business & get on with your own life.

Is it just me, or are there multiple posts missing from this thread, including the OP's original post? confused
