Anpr average speed local village.
Discussion
Just wondered if these are purely for speed or whether they also pick up untaxed or sorn vehicles? Mate has recently moved house and moved a vehicle between properties that was currently sorn. Part of his journey went through a single anpr average speed camera in a quiet local village. He didn't exceed the speed limit. Can expect a fine? Or should he just tax the vehicle to avoid anything coming up in the future?
They are these kind of cameras simens safezone;

Depends what the camera is set up to alert
If it’s configured just for speed enforcement or for DVLA enforcement as well
The DVLA can access ANPR cameras and send out automatic fines
Unfortunately without knowing how the camera is set up it’s impossible to answer
In my last house I had a nice circular run of about 5 miles which avoided any ANPR cameras which allowed for the occasional run out of my sorned car over winter
When I had relocate it in December I had to tax it as I couldn’t avoid A roads and Motorways .. taxed it the day before and sorned it again a couple of days later
I think it then shows taxed for the whole month

Thanks yes I understand it would depend the how it's been setup.
Looking on the local council website in which these cameras operate it does say, "Evidence is only collected for those vehicles exceeding the speed limit."

...but then I guess it all depends how up-to-date that is and whether they've switched on to other offences.
May just tell mate it's his choice. Risk an £80 fine and do nothing or just tax from today and like you say Sorn it next week. Then I suppose it's only cost one month's worth of road tax.

You can only drive a vehicle with a SORN on a public road to go to or from a pre-booked MOT or other testing appointment. You face court prosecution and a fine of up to £2,500 if you use it on the road for any other reason.

Give us a clue where, there's a whole bunch of these in the local bedfordshire villages. Looking on the local council website in which these cameras operate it does say, "Evidence is only collected for those vehicles exceeding the speed limit."
