local police station better idea?
My very limited understanding is that unless its 'Malicious communication', i.e. grossly offensive, obscene, threatening or indecent, then it's a civil matter. What do you want to happen, if you want to sue them, then get a lawyer, if you want them to retract and stop saying it, a strongly worded letter, threating a legal a response.
Sisters ex partner repeatedly calling social services on her, is besotted and cant get over the break up, trying to cause her as much grief as possible. Has previously emailed a confidential Social service care plan to her friends and family to try and turn them against her. Constant harassment and brainwashing the children while in his care. Social services are not helpful at all, if anything they are slandering my sister by writing a lazy report, when she questioned them on the phone they wouldn't say why they had written what they had as 'it may incriminate them'. She seems to have come to a dead end. Social services don't get involved or offer help for domestic issues and the ex ha previously been sectioned under the mental health act.
He causes as much drama as humanly possible. Doesnt buy the children presents for christmas, see's them twice a month max for 2 days at a time, yet they come back brainwashed. Any mark scratch on them and he is on the phone to social. Has phoned them 7 times. Yet still won't commit to see them anymore. Tell social they are in danger. Bombards her with text messages. Social believe he is obsessed with her.
Bizarre really, if my child was in danger id go and pick he/she up and not give them back or at least see them as much as is humanly possible.

She could apply to the courts for a non molestation order. Someone may correct me but I’m certain there is no charge from the court for the application.
They cover a long list of things such as violence, threats and harassment.

Non-molestation order as above. It’s obtained through the civil courts but carries a criminal power of arrest. Very powerful tool, and after he’s been nicked a couple of times, spent hours if not days in custody depending on time and day of arrest and put before the court he’ll probably ‘move on’ from her quite rapidly!

How does she apply for one of these please? Can it be done yourself or has to be via police/solicitor?
thank you
I'd suggest having her speak to the police firstly. thank you
If his behavior amounts to a crime then that is more serious and more powers (and harsher consequences) are available punish him / prevent repeat behaviour. If there are no criminal matters then the civil route can still be undertaken.
A solicitor will likely ask if your sister has been to the police / recommend she do so.
Reports to the police can be used in legal proceedings surrounding the children.
It's free.
