A very nice slovakian lady I work with had the read doot of her aging Polo dinged/dented. She likes the car and as only door damage her insurer has let her keep it, but what next?
She called DVLA to inform them and they say they are not interested and to call her insurers to only get the same response. Having checked the website it looks to me like she will need a new MOT and that should be ok.

Am I right or does she need to do anything else?

Nope

I bought my current motorbike from a salvage yard, didn't even need to MOT it as it still had 9m MOT left.....

I presume the MOT requirement is form her own insurance company to continue cover?

Nope that was my understanding from the DVLA website, I am probably wrong though.

All it says is the car should be repaired and roadworthy so I assumed MOT to prove road worthyness

No need to prove roadworthiness with an MOT, as long as the vehicle is roadworthy its ok smile

When my old 540i was written off and I retained it I had to get it re-MOT'ed as a condition of insurance continuation....
